In this video you will learn 5 simple tips to achieve your 2021 goals through intentional living and keeping your 2021 Resolutions alive.
The tips to make your goals for 2021 a reality are:
1. Be specific about what you really want.
2. Believe that Success is Possible.
3. Create Actionable Steps.
4. Take Confident Action.
5. Adjust as you go.
I'm not perfect and I strive to use these tips daily to achieve my 2021 goals.
Hi, my name is Chris Power and I want to talk about 2021 goals, and offer you five tips to live intentionally in the new year. So the first tip is to be specific about the goal that you're looking to achieve.
So instead of just saying, I would like to make a bunch of money. Or I would like to be a millionaire. Or I would like to be financially free in 2021.
What you want to do is you want to really break that goal down into something specific. So how much money do you actually want to make in 2021? How much do you want to be earning per month in 2021? You know, how much money do you want to see in your bank account in 2021?
It's important to be very clear on what exactly you want. You know, do you want to be a professional speaker in 2021? What does that look like? What does a professional speaker-- How many speaking gigs do you want to have? How many paid speaking gigs do you want to have?
Do you want a relationship in the new year? What does that look like? What kind of relationship do you want? You know, what are you expecting from it?
It's important to be very clear because without a clear goal, first, you're probably not going to get there. And second, even if you got there you wouldn't even know. Because you haven't defined specifically enough exactly what you're looking to achieve.
The second tip is to believe that success is possible. To believe that you can actually get to that goal. I mean, if you're setting a goal and the moment you say it you feel like, I'm never going to get there, or this is never going to work out for me, then it's not worth setting that goal.
It's better to change your goals into something that you believe is possible than it is to continue with that goal and just hope, or pray, or just wish that things will work out in the end. It's important that you believe it, and a couple of ways to work on that is to visualize it. So an example might be, say you want to earn $20,000 a month by the end of 2021.
Well, in that process you can actually visualize what it would be like if you made that much money. And what I mean by visualize is, if you close your eyes and you just imagine looking in your bank account and seeing that money pop up and the feelings that you get around it, achieving that goal. And what that would feel like. What is that like?
And to let those feelings go through your body as though you've actually achieved that goal. That's the kind of visualization I'm talking about, because that will really help solidify your belief that you can actually reach it. So the other part is, or the other way to do this is to let people know that this is your goal and you intend to get there.
And be specific with them when you talk about your goals so that maybe they might help you hold yourself accountable to achieving that goal. Sometimes if we keep the goal to ourselves it's easy for us to find excuses and to not get there and say, oh well, yeah, I guess it wasn't meant to be. But as soon as we tell somebody else, we have the opportunity to really prove it to them and to prove it to ourselves that we can achieve whatever we put our mind to.
The third is create actionable steps. So it's not good just to have a giant goal and say, you know, perhaps I might get there at the end of the year. Or even to get specific, so I'm going to make $20,000 a month. That's not good enough if you don't have a game plan. If you don't have steps that you can take along the way.
Like OK, well in order for me to make $20,000 a month I need to make $5,000 a week. How can I do that? What are the steps I can take to start making that kind of money each week? And by doing that, you get to celebrate the small successes along the way. You get to feel the feeling of success even before you reach your goal.
So it's super important to break it down into bite size manageable steps and to celebrate the process of achieving that goal in the end. So tip four is to take confident action. Now that you have your goal, you have it broken down into bit-sized chunks, you've told people about it, so people are holding you accountable to achieving this goal.
Now is the time for you to take specific action towards achieving that goal. And that means making a plan. What am I going to do this week that will get me closer to my goal? What can I do this month, what can I do today to help me get closer to that goal?
And start living on purpose in each of those moments in order to get you to that outcome in the end. It's only going to happen if you live on purpose today. If you live intentionally today, this is what's going to help you get to wherever you want to go by the end of 2021.
Because if you're anything like me, you'll realize that time goes really fast. And it'll be a week and you're like, oh wow, I guess I better get started on that thing I was going to do for my goal. And then all of a sudden it's the end of 2021 and you're like OK, 2022 is my year.
Right, so you need to come up with a plan. You need to come up with actionable steps. And you need to take that confident action. So the final tip is to adjust as you go. With each action that you take, you're going to learn lessons from it. Whether it's a lesson, you know, I need to do more of this. Or it's a lesson of, this didn't really work out that well, perhaps I want to try something new.
You'll learn something. And through every opportunity to learn is an opportunity to grow and get better at what you're doing, and to really help you change course or adjust your plans so that you're really continuously moving towards that goal by the end of 2021. So those are the five tips I have for you for reaching your goals in 2021 and living intentionally as you pursue those goals.
